Personal observation...I read over the net regularly.  After 17-years of GMC ownership I still learn a lot from this site.  The majority of the time I agree with the suggestions and observations.  I have noticed that posts are rarely rude these days.  Most are respectful and polite.  A few years ago it wasn't always that way.  Some guys would cut your gizzard out if you said something they didn't agree with.  I think Billy and some of the old timers asked people to change and they did, which is very much appreciated.  Today, the net is informative and a pleasure that I look forward to.  To the man (and ladies) respect for one another is clearly evident.  It's truly another benefit of being a GMC motorhome owner.

Tom,

While your observation is entirely correct, what really happened it that we had a few very disrespectful persons join the group. We almost as a family tried very hard to get along with them, but (I believe it was Billy or Batman) got to 999 and finally just cut them off. One of them went on to found a counter group on Facebook, and I have had little interest in following past that.

Yes, this is an amazing, helpful and supportive community like few others. What ever has to happen to preserve that, is essential to it continuation.

Matt

With respect to the collegiality and kindness shown on the GMC net, it is one of those things that we get back what we put into it. If we have a sincere desire to help and not just to be right, we won't be corrected and brought up short. To illustrate, let's have another discussion about tire brands and pressures! Laughing Laughing How about parts from China? Shocked Shocked Just kidding about this.

I think it's rare here to have what we do, vendors trying sincerely to help, as well as experts. It's part of the legacy of Dan Gregg, a friend to all, though his chops were busted about his in-bathroom propane demand water heater. It heated the bathroom at the same time! I learn about GMC stuff every day and do little if anything to add to the knowledge base. I hope by reading the forum every day I might learn enough to help others, as you have helped me.
