Just wondering which macerator pump the majority are using, which pumps to stay away from and how difficult to install . After the last two trips and no septic on site it's time to put one in.

Happy New Year to all

Thanks for the advice

Hi Kevin,
Our coach has a JABSCO Model 18590 Mascerator that was reportedly installed in 1997, and it is still working well for us.

Hope to see you and Maureen at the January rally in St. Augustine.

Kevin,
Search the previous post for macerators, there are some good system designs on them. But I think you will be happy with one.
I went with a flojet twist on type. It works, but it's temporary until I get a chance to put in more of a permanent setup.
I like the higher amp models, extra cutting power is always good.

Thanks for replying.... Hey Russ, we are not going to January's rally, flying to Maine for granddaughters 13th birthday party and my mother's 90th. Was hoping to go to February's rally but I heard there is none, next one for us will be in April due to the Red Sox Spring Training starting up and players checking into Fort Myers the end of January.
We did spend time at Frank and Nene Jenkins place over Thanksgiving and after Christmas, had a great time in Ellie and with the Jenkins and The Myers.

Kevin,

Do a search on the GMC Photosite and look for Macerator. You will find a large number of different layouts that may fit your need.

I have a PO installed Jabsco. Other than having to rewire it and install a larger circuit breaker, it has worked well for nine plus years without issue, other than needing to take it apart and clean hair out of it a couple of times.

It looks like Jim K has a whole kit with all the fittings, hoses, etc on his site with a Flowmaster pump. Buying something like that might make it easier to install.

Kevin,

Check out this unit:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g6769-seaflo-macerator.html

The advantage of this unit is that it has a quick disconnect fitting on the inlet so when some dummy (guess who) puts a paper towel
down the toilet and jams it you can remove the unit easily.
