While changing spark plugs today, I broke off the top loop portion of the tranny dipstick right above the cap.
Is this reparable? Will it take a weld? Or JB weld? Or other ideas.
I'm also up for buying a new one, but I don't think they are available new.
Thanks, Scott.

If it's metal it should weld OK.
Not like the dipstick in my '05 Dodge Magnum. Plastic at the top that gets cooked by the heat and the handle comes off in your hand.

Indeed, the dipstick will take a weld and continue to do its task. I suffered the same issue three years back, took the dipstick to a welding shop and had it welded. No issues since.
Regardless, enjoy the day.

Yes, the dipstick can be welded. I took mine to a pro. Didn't trust my own abilities on that one. IF you can find a replacement, it won't be cheap.
