Daughter talked me into going halfeze on a 1976. It was not until it developed a very bad engine knock and we limped it into Los Banos off I 5 that I realized my half was the front half. The coach is in Los Banos, CA. Approx 90 miles south of Sacremento. Anyone have a recommendation of a good repair shop hopefully within a 100 miles of where it is that can diagnose the problem and do an engine swap if necessary? Thx in advance, David.

Davis,

I have your daughters engine sitting here, the problem is, I told her it is and has been here, but she wanted to bring the Birch in last week, I am over booked I told her, and that she "CAN" bring it, just that I will have to put it in storage down the street until I can clear the 3 I am currently working on, her reply was, " NO, I DO NOT WANT MY UNIT IN STORAGE," MY RESOLVE WAS THEN, I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN TO BRING IT DOWN THEN.

you can take it to mondello, I got several GMC's here that went there and the work was sub par, mnotors went to poop, but, you can take it there, and we can ship the motor to them if you like, but, be prepaired for a bill that will knock your socks off.

If Miguel is full up, take it to Kanamata. The west coast Mondello shop builds junk and overcharges, they're no kin to the late Joe Mondello.

Johnny,

I am full, but she needs to get the GMC here to me so I can put her in line, motors take priority but then need to be here so I can get to them, I told her weeks ago, I got your motor here, now I need the GMC here, I am waiting on her, if I get it early next week, I can start on it the following week

Gentlemen,

Why is this discussion even on the GMC net? With all due respect in my opinion it's a customer relations problem that none of us can
resolve!

I can tell you it is really a pain figuring out what people want.
This is typical as to what all the shops face and how we need to cope with
things.
Getting into service of these coaches was the biggest mistake I made.
We should have stuck with parts only and AirFilters.
