A simple, effective and secure way to hang bikes on a GMC is to weld up a rectangle from square tube that will just snug down on a deflated spare tire about 6-10 inches. Bolt simple bike holders to that piece and reinflate the spare. The bikes won’t move. Used a set up like that for a long time with great success.

Morning,

my sparetire is mounted in such a way the adding a bike rack is
cumbersome, so I want to eliminate the outside spare tire and follow the
idea of putting it under the bed.

Anyone see an issue in utilizing
