Hi All,
I had a question about the production sequence number in the VIN.
Is the sequence number the sequential number of all chassis sizes and types for a given model year, or is it the sequential number for a particular chassis/type.
For example: In 1978, there were 1012 26’ Transmodes built, with 1879 coaches of both sizes built in total. My coach’s VIN ends in 1003. Is it 1003/1012 or 1003/1879?
Thanks, all!
-Dave

Check the forum. There has been a thread about this a couple of month
ago. Basically, number blocks were assigned for a specific time. If not
completely used, the rest were discarded, and a new block used.
