I have seen a small door in the back of the toilet paper cabinet in a GMC
shower, that someone or some people have made for easier access to the
by-pass valves on the water heater.
If I had to guess, I'd say it was Emery but I'm not sure. Has anyone done
this modification?

Typing in Antigonish with scraped and bleeding hands ...why take out the
whole unit when a little blood can hurry the chore right along?

Thank you Sir !

The pain that would have saved
I know masochistic tenancies are required to have a GMC, but there is a
limit!

I drilled a small hole in the bypass valve handle and ran a push pull wire made out of a coat hangar (old car antennas also work very well). I ran the wire towards the rear of the coach so I could access it by opening the rear sliding door.

Thanks for the suggestion,Ken.
It makes me wonder what others are doing...or are there only 3 people with
a by-pass.

Mike,
I must be number 4 then as there is a cutout in the panel in my Palm Beach
too.
It sure makes things easier and saves the hands for the time being or other
masochistic work.

Me, me, me, I copied Emery's idea. Did it to Barbara Bieser's coach as
well.

That whole thing lifts out of mine - both sides of the 'toilet paper holder'. Room to change the water heater element with it out. (Ask me how I know this)

I know what you are saying Johnny, but mine has a dozen screws holding it
in place. By the time I get it out, my beer is warm and Dolly the Dawg has
lost interest in watching.

It's a two beer job, but mine only has maybe 6 screws. And I haven't the attention to detail Emery's wants.
