Hello All... been awhile Mike Derr from Madison WI here...
78' I have original wipers, bought replacement rubbers... not sure how to
reassemble, I see those metal u-shapped 1" clips... then holes for a bolt?
pin?
I googled to see a assemble help but was not able to find any.

PS: we are planning a lil trip Wed. to Door County here...
Pss: kinda have older tires good tread, but little sidewall fine lines, I
feel should be ok though.

Mike,
Just remember: If one of those "little sidewall fine lines" decides, as
they often do, to let all the air out instantaneously, you'll probably have
a $2000+ fiberglass repair bill.

$$$ value these days?

Hi Mike,
On my very first weekend trip after buying my GMC, I had two blow outs, one which ripped out the front wheel covering and now I have a nice fiberglass tear (looks like Wolverine of X-Men took a piece out of my fender).
On the way back my second was a flat, and when the rig was up on the flat bed, that's when I noticed the same thing you did: Fine lines and cracks on all the tires. I was near a Goodyear place, so I had them replace everything. It cost me about $1800 or so, but I'm happy.

I've put about 5000 miles on them and they've held up really well. I also invested in a Tire Pressure Monitoring system which gives me a little piece of mind too.

At the risk of rekindling past tire wars, I have found that tires replaced
while still young more readily get away with being cheap. I've been using
whatever inexpensive polyester-sidewall tires my tire guy has been able to
find. The last set was Load Range E only because they were cheaper than the
Load Range D alternatives. They are four years old and I'll replace them
year after next.
I also inflate them strictly per manufacturer recommendations, which
depends on load. For my very light early 23' coach, I use 65 psi in the
front and 45-50 psi in the back.
I've had one flat caused by a nail, but no other tire issues.
I think my last set cost about $750 mounted, but I removed and replaced the
wheels myself.
Now, the tires on my beater pickups, well, let's not talk about those.

How true about tire replacement. I was going to say if you really have to run them, make sure they are properly inflated. Just running a short distance very underinflated can damage a tire. Blowouts are so sudden and disconcerting, and expensive, that it's worth the money and trouble to get new tires.
Like Rick (who puts really good autobiographical observations between his first and last name) Denney says, I get the cheapest with the proper load range and go with them. Not worth the money just to replace. I give the carcasses to my neighbor for his flatbed trailer. He runs them happily.

What Rick and Carey said. Unless the coach is on the road full time, they will age out long before they wear out. Shop price. I've been using Cooper Challenger HT3s purely because I deal with the same place for some decades and he gives me a price on them... and goes and gets me new ones from the warehouse... usually 6 weeks old or less. I go 7 years and then Craigslist them as older with good tread. Takeoffs work fine on peoples' pickups who wear them out.

The wiper blades should install with a nut driver on the nylock nut and a small flat blade on the screw.
The Cooper HT3s are the best value for money out there. From a previous Michelin LTX/ MS owner who has 6 perfect looking LTXs in his garage, only because of age discrimination

Should you want more instruction, I can take few pictures to show you as to
how to do it.
Also a picture of your present wiper arm as I need to know if it is the
origional round shaft arm or flat NEW style.

thanks all I got them on with screw n nut... one the fluid tube broke off
but ok for now...
someday I upgrade as others mentioned
