Hi,
I have Avion VIN A26000.
I engine battery was at 12.6 volts.
I used the battery to pump up the suspension before starting the coach.
Battery lowered to 11.6. I moved the coach form the street to my parking
pad where I plugged it in. Has been plugged in for 2 weeks now. The battery
is still at 11.6. I thought the reason to plug in was to keep the
batteries charged. I am plugged into a 120 volt 15 amp line and lifted the
ground to keep from tripping the GFI. I kink I can take care of the
Grounding problem but have no idea if the unit even has a battery trickle
charger.

If you don't have a combiner installed, all you're doing is keeping up the house battery.

Stock wiring does not charge the engine battery when plugged in to shore power. Engine battery is only charged when engine is running.
If you install a combiner, both batteries will be charged while connected to shore power.
Do you have a modern battery charger or still making do with the buzz box? If you have the original buzz box, it will destroy by over-charging, your house battery.

My Avion had a combiner installed when I got it in '03 and it looks to be original equipment. The buzz box (changed to Progressive Dynamics solid state unit) charges both the house batteries and the engine batteries with a separate 10 ga red wire running up the left side of the coach under the setee and across the bottom of the firewall...hard to see. You'll need to make sure that wire is connected to the buzz box and to the combiner on the firewall above the batteries. The Avion buzz box lives under the kitchen sink area and is plugged into an outlet under the sink. Make sure it's plugged in and there's power to the outlet as well. Woody.

AND, that is NOT your VIN. If it is really an Avion, it will be in the
form of TZE365V10xxxx. You will find the VIN tag on the firewall behind
the passenger side hood.

Woody,

Here's links to the Avion's 12VDC and 120 VAC schematics:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/aa-miscellaneous-photos/p41274-avion-12-volt-wiring-diagram.html

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/aa-miscellaneous-photos/p41274-avion-12-volt-wiring-diagram.html

I installed a 60 amp Progressive Dynamics convertor under the wood shelf under the bathroom sink. It's mounted to the plastic wheel
well. I had to remove the rubber insulation from the wheel well. You can see the Charge Wizard attached to the CB panel in these
photos:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g6546-under-double-trouble-27s-bathroom-sink.html

It has been there working well since 2008.

Billy,

Woody's VIN = TZE365V100846
Double Trouble's VIN = TZE365V100426
The Blue Streaks VIN = TZE365V100428
Your version = TZE365V10xxxx

I don't understand as all three match your version's format.

To Robert M, in the second line of John Phillips posting on the FORUM
he says his VIN is "I have Avion VIN A26000."
I think that is what Bill Massey is commenting about

I keep a Schumacher Electric Battery Maintainer hooked up to my Avion engine Battery. I also have one on my 87 Cadillac Allante which has a computer that never turns off & will drain the battery in about a week.

They are $19.95 at Lowes.

Ron,
Thank you for the documentation.
The last 2 links show what is under my sinks.
Not sure what the silver box is behind the power panel.
As for my VIN numbers.
Here is a link to a photo of my title.

There is a panel that does say Avion which contains the water pump and
generator start-stop switches. The floor plan seems to be avion as well.
It seems like this was purchased as a finished 1974 GMC MH then stripped so
they could install an Avion interior.

This must've been like the prototype for Avion. Yes, the VIN indicates
that it was a GM finished coach that was then remodeled by Avion. Please
update the pedigree for your coach at www.gmcmhregistry.com.

John,

Re under your bathroom sink:

I believe the tan panel with the CB's and fuses in it are courtesy of a previous owner, I seriously doubt Avion installed it; note
the blue 110VAC outlet, I don't remember those back in the 1970's. I don't have a clue what that silver box directly behind the blue
110VAC outlet is either, the second silver box appears to be another 110VAC outlet which is what I have in Double Trouble. The gray
CB panel in this photo is OEM Avion:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/under-double-trouble-27s-bathroom-sink/p36567-iota-auto-transfer-panel-c-2fb-panel-blue-sea-fuse-p
anel.html

The Blue Sea 12VDC fuse panel is not, I added that.

You can see the Avion OEM 110VAC outlet in this photo:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/under-double-trouble-27s-bathroom-sink/p36568-iota-auto-transfer-panel-c-2fb-panel-blue-sea-fuse-p
anel.html

The Blue Streak was rewired for 240VAC by the previous owner in Australia.

Re under your kitchen sink: That's the furnace. Where is it located in the counter top? Early Avion's had the sink next to the
curved bathroom wall as shown in this brochure:

http://www.bdub.net/publications/Avion2/avion-int-261.htm

Later Avion's it swapped positions with the stove. I guess somebody at Avion figgered out cooking nest to someone sitting in the
"Love Seat" wasn't "lovely." ;-)

http://www.bdub.net/publications/Avion2/avion-int-263.htm

Re your California title:

It appears that Your GMC has been registered using the information on the Avion data plate:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/aa-miscellaneous-photos/p63730-the-blue-streak-avion-vin-tag.html

Note: DATE OF INCOMPLETE MFG: 11/74

The VEHICLE IDENT NO. of TZE064V101164 is a bit of a mystery, it should begin with TZE365V which would indicate it was built as a
Transmode. However, as you can see in my signature below both my Avions have serial numbers lower than yours. When I removed the
passenger seat and carpet I found October ??, 1974 written on the floor of Double Trouble and November ??, 1974 on The Blue Streak.
That matches the DATE OF INCOMPLETE MFG 11/74 on the data plate. Note: the ?? indicate I can't remember the day,

Re the Panel:

You can see it in the photo I posted above: http://www.bdub.net/publications/Avion2/avion-int-263.htm

By the way where are the sink and stove located and does your Avion have a curved bathroom wall or is it square as shown in the
brochure photo above?

Rob M.
