On the TB. 1987 and up to what year for the Chevy 454? Do all these years run at 14 PSI? The distributor starts at 1983 up to what year? I know the 307 Olds is good. The 350 Olds of the same years would also work? Heading out to the man mall later this week for other items. Bob Dunahugh

Bob,

'87 through '93 had the throttle body that ran at around 13 psi.  The '94 and '95 454s had a throttle body (physically looks the same) but ran at around 30 psi with smaller pounds per hour injectors.  I started with the Holley throttle body at around 17- 18 psi, then went to the 13 psi Rochester system and now run the Rochester 30 psi system.  Not much noticeable difference between the 3.  Seat of the pants tells me that the 30 psi is a bit more responsive and perhaps holds power a bit better on long pulls but that is entirely subjective and probably helps me justify making the changes.  I talk about this stuff all the time so wanted to try the different setups to see if there were significant differences.  Can't say that there is enough difference to warrant changing.  Would like to try the FiTech to see if I thought it made any difference - anyone want to donate one? lol

As far as the distributor, I don't see any Olds 350 engines that have the same part number.  Here is the list of engines that have the correct part number distributor.  There are a few smaller engines with this part number (260 cu in): (Sorry it didn't maintain the formatting when I cut and pasted but it is readable)

I have formatted Randy’s list to make it more easily read and printed and saved it to a pdf file on the GMCmhphotos.com site
