Well, actually two trips, both without coach troubles. To Chattanooga and back for a four day show in McDonald. They wanted 45 bux a night for hookups so I stayed at Harrison Bay State Park. Beautiful park on Harrison Lake. Both drive through and back - in sites with Area B all shaded. All power, water and excellent WiFi. Dump station 100 yards away. This would be a good location for a rally. Then to Anniston Army Depot for a show at the Talladega racetrack. The track stings the club for RV sites so they're pricey at 50 bucks for 50 amps. I've mentioned the Anniston Army rv camp recently, it's primo. Mostly homesteaders but they have two or three transient sites with full hookups for $16 a night if you qualify (Retiree, DOD, etc.) These are the things the GMC is meant for, easy ride and hookup, comfortable stay and a good ride home or on to the next one. We hear so much bad, we have to tout the good. 4 out of six Coopers on the coach now and the ride is way better than the Firestones.

One minor contretemps, which had naught to do with the coach. Thought I might have a steering problem, coming home from Anniston took a 60 degree turn on the wheel to track straight, but no pull. Got home and realized I didn't leave the key in the toad. Fortunately, its tyres are up for replacement in 2500 miles. They now have feathering on the tread edges in front. Stupidity is its own best reward Smile

You're right, Johnny. Most GMCers have more positive to report, but as
usual, the negative reports are made more often.

Sounds like you found some good camping spots.

Thanks for sharing. We're going through Chattanooga soon. May try
Harrison SP.

Great to hear good news! Thanks for the camping info. We are frequently both areas to ride the motorcycles and enjoy nature. Good to have another option in the Talladega area. Hope to have a successful trip report from Talladega after I get my coach back. While the transmission issue was a big one, the coach got us to where we were going and we had an awesome time camping. We met fellow GMCer Art Moore and it was great to talk GMCs and motorcycles. Everywhere we went people asked questions about he coach and several took pictures with it. We had a fantastic time!

We miss the conversations started by our GMC (traveling in an SOB now).
Two slides is nice, but GMC is more fun.

Glad you're up and running again.

During race weekends, Anniston is going to be booked months out. Otherwise except for holiday travelers a couple of weeks should garner a spot. Currently only three for transients, the rest are homesteaders. It is very unlikely that the current DoD policy will ever be enforced there.
