Hi all,
My hub on the drivers side moves in relation to the knuckle. (Disc moves
maybe .125" in relation to caliper.)
Can't find anything in the manual regarding this but don't think it
should considering the 140# torque required on the axle nut. (I had both
CV boots replaced by Jim K ~ 1500 miles ago.)
Just checking before I start taking things apart.
PS picked up the corrogated plastic for my headliner thanks for the advice
.
Thanks,
Ron Preston 75 Glenbrook

Ron,

Check the nut and if it's tight I'd say you've got a wheel bearing problem if the hub moves but the knuckle doesn't.

Ron,
We tighten the hub around 200 ft lbs .
The play is in the Knuckle. We do not like to nit pick so if the play is
minimal , we do not require the knuckle to be replaced.
We also check to see that the seal is not leaking, as if it is leaking , it
is generally from the loose knuckle.
Replacing the axle assembly does not contribute to play in the
knuckle, unless the nut was not tightened to 150 ft lbs.
