My Atwood 6 gal water heater is slow to light. Switch It on and it goes through the light process sometimes 3 times before it lights. Sometimes it does not light by the third time, and times out for a while before I can try again. Any ideas why this is happening?

A good cleaning of complete burner Assembly and office should help and make sure your lp is at correct settings... spiders love to build webs in these small areas and can cause real problems... I'd recommend a good cleaning once a year..

That's great
Never hurts to clean anyway...
Check you voltage and grounds also... this could have been part of your problem
Glad to hear you've got hot water now..

Larry,
You might want to check the LPG pressure and also see if the thermal couple
might need to be replaced.
There is also a small screw to adjust the pilot frame. If the flame is not
large enough, the thermocouple does not sense the flame and shuts off the
gas.

Larry,
If it ever goes completely out on you, get a tankless water heater. They are insane!! Sydney and I love ours!
But I do miss the days of both of us squeezing in the shower just to get some hot water...........
Scott.
