Hi all,
I helped my Brother in-law sell his 75 Avion today. The new owner Richard,
and his neighbor, started out for home to the Seattle area.
I just received a text message from him that the water pump just went Tango
Uniform. They are at a rest stop approximately 13 miles North of Redding,
CA.
I forwarded the Black List to him, as well as the part numbers for
acceptable replacements.
I am reaching out to the group on his behalf to see if there is anyone in
the area willing to help, or be able to recommend a competent shop in the
Redding area.
Richard is his name. Cel number and text is (3 six zero) 602-97 eight 7
Thank you so much for any help.

Water pump is Usually an in stock item at NAPA. Also available at AZ with a smaller impeller. Might as well go get one. It is not very difficult to replace on the road. He will probably need something to drain the antifreeze into and maybe a gallon or two of replacement antifreeze, a screw driver, a socket set, and a set of box end / open end wrenches. Double check that you have the correct gasket. There are two different ones that fit that pump. The amount of work is the same if he does it where it is parked or if it is towed somewhere. Why pay necessarily for a tow?

I had good luck with the Autozone Severe Duty water pump on my 455 -- one's
still on there in my son's hands. Probably got 20-25,000 miles Running
Backward with the serpentine belt.
