Im on the road, presently week 3 of my summer road trip with another week to go. Headed back West tomorrow or Wednesday. My Eleganza II has a shy 3k miles (hot) so far with only a failed alternator on day 2 of the trip. Just recently, I parked on an incline (nose high) to check some under hood curiousities for about 2 days. Today when i backed out and leveled off again i had a rather large transfluid puddle under the coach. I wiped everything clean and cant tell where a leak might be. Possibly around the gasket? But it has been fine until now. Went for a short drive and rechecked and still no obvious leak. Only a few drops or so around the rear of the gasket. Im stumped. Does parking (or jacking) at a nose high position cause some sort of overflow/leak?? Anyone seen this before?

Steve, also check the two lines exiting to the tranny cooler! Ask me how I know!

Steven,
When running, the transmission fluid level is at about the level of the pan
flange. After sitting a while without the engine running, the torque
converter will drain about 1/2 of its contents back into the pan, raising
the fluid level above that less-than-perfect flange gasket. Parking on an
incline tilts the pan, putting that level still farther above the flange.
So, yes, the pan gasket can easily react as you've described. Check & set
the fluid level with the engine running, then don't worry about it until
your next pan R&R.

Check and see if it ran out of the breather vent.

The fill tube will leak after the torque converter bleeds down.
Remove the tube, wipe it clean and use Black RTV sealant then bolt it .
Also the speedo gear has a O ring that is worn and leake , but in small
amount.

Hi Ken,
That is what I seem to be seeing. Everything seems to be back to normal. I've adopted a wait and see approach. I get back on the road today so I will watch (and listen) for any abnormalities and keep a constant eye on the fluid level

My new trans worked fine on the road and ate no fluid. Now that the coach has sat for a couple of weeks, I see drips. I suspect the fill tube isn't sealed well, I'll apply JimK's approach when I get back from Chattanooga. Meantimes, level checks at every stop.
