Espen,
Peer did not investigate his exhaust leak, it could be:
1) the donut
2) the exhaust manifold to head gasket
3) the gasket under the choke stove
4) a cracked exhaust manifold
5) etc, etc, etc

Just thinking here, if you have a Harley sound could it not be one of the exhaust manifold gaskets ? I do rarely see a dunut failure on the GMC but a
lot of blown manifold gaskets..

And thanks to Facebook, I'll visit another GMC owner on Friday to get to the root of this issue.

Morning,
coach has been upon the lift.
The exhaust manifold has a leak. I might already have a source for a
pair of exhaust manifolds, but wonder what the right gasket is:
http://possy.de/kts.pdf
455 is the engine.
And do I always need a new gasket, even when Ken Frey replaced both
gaskets 4 month ago? /me thinks yes.

Thanks for the details. I guess, I better order the gaskets. Better safe
than sorry when I do need them.
I'll try my luck with some Fire Seal cement first, as I am in a bit of a
hurry, and won't get the manifolds in time. Maybe it helps better than
expected.

Remflex, with the divider in the center port. Follow the instructions.

Peer
You don’t always need a new gasket.
If the gasket looks OK (no tears or breakouts or burnouts) I would suggest that you coat it both sides with Permatex Ultra Copper RTV and replace it.
Torque it to the proper value — its in the maintenance manual.
It is important to retorque a manifold a hundred or so miles after installing it.
That might be why you have a leak.
As to new gaskets most of us are now using Remflex gaskets. RF11-001 is the one for Headers RF11-003 is the one for stock manifolds
