During my endless crawl of the web (I should work for Google or Bing as
web crawler), I found some more historical photos and talked to the
original poster to ask for permission uploading it to the GMC photo site.

So, here they are:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g7075-weisberg-golo-racing-team.html

Various quality photos from a 23' in 1977 and 1978.

Question: Anyone know of a 23 footer models? The Barbie, hot wheels and
Hess models that I found are all 26 footer models.

Peer,

Cool photo's!

I have four Barbie's:

1) Star Traveler - Yellow
2) Star Traveler - Pink (Apparently only sold in Europe)
3) Western Traveler - Tan - (in the box NEVER ASSEMBLED!)
4) Barbie & the Rockers - Pink

I also have a Hess Training Van.

I've been doing an eBay search regularly for GMC Motorhome items and never seen any model of a 23 foot GMC.

Now I understand your question. The Weisberg racing team from the 1970s
was related to a tool manufacturer Erwin Weisberg. I do not think, that
they are related to the racer John Weisberg in any shape or form, but I
have been wrong before :-)

This time I was not wrong. Mailed John Weisberg and he confirmed that
they are not related. I love the Internet for fast free communication!

Peer,

I know of none and I have (for obvious reasons) been looking.

Closest is the Mattel Hot Wheels version, it has out short rear over hang (way short) but the door and windows are wrong.

I haven't dug into the rules to know if I can have a PineBlock entry that is the 23' aspect ratio.

More photos at

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/weisberg-gelo-racing-team/p63637-interior-shot-of-loosmobil.html

I added four more pictures that I received from the driver's son. Two
interior shots, and two outside shots. The son told me, that the GMC was
always the attention getter at any race they went to.

Somehow the four new pics do show up when I manually go to them, but do
not show up for me in the album itself.

Peer,

Your note says that the white 23 was repainted to red and yellow, but the only interior shot I can get looks like a 26?
Am I missing something?

Matt

Seems the black and white interior shot is from a different car. The
colour interior threw me off, but I really think it is from a 23'

Peer,

This photo is definitely not a GMC:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/weisberg-gelo-racing-team/p63639-interior-shot-of-loosmobil.html

Note the size of the window behind the smiling guy on the right.

This is definitely a 26' GMC:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/weisberg-gelo-racing-team/p63637-interior-shot-of-loosmobil.html

Note no door at the end of the couch on the right.

Rob, you got it half right.

This is a 23' Crestmont. The 3 guys are sitting on the step to cockpit at door.
