100 octane/low lead is $4.25 a gallon for aircraft. I got 110 octane leaded for my next road race track event. That was $11.75 a gallon. In the range of 100 to 120 mph. I get around 4 mpg. So that's just under $3.00 a mile. And I generally get in 100 to150 miles a day, and toast $600 in 4 tires in the process. So. Enjoy are GMC's each day on the road. Bob dunahugh

And cook in one. Which is the biggest money saver for us on vacation. Having to go out to eat for 2 or 3 meals a day with 2 adults and 3 kids? That'll cost you. Eating in the GMC? No more expensive than being at home. For a family of 5, with a dog, we went to the beach earlier this summer for a week. Stayed for $22 a night at a FL S.P. campground and mostly ate in the coach. With gas? We spent less than $75 a day on average. I would have spent $35 a day on just a dog sitter without the coach!

I figure I spend $1K to $2K a year on average on repairs and upgrades. That's roughly the cost of a cheap week's vacation for our family without the coach. Any other time we use the coach is cheap compared to the alternatives.

Sometimes we need a refresher course in the true cost. And for many of us. We can add. It's a hobby. And most hobbies ( As stated ) You have savings in the eating/sleeping. Plus the value of traveling our country's with family. We've put just over 7,000 miles on our GMC this year so far. More miles to go. Bob Dunahugh

Bob,

Info for you on the Avgas. It is dual rated. Lean mixture is at least 100 octane and generally runs about 107 - 108. Rich mixture is at least 130 octane and generally is a few points higher.
