After running the interstate with 6-7% grades, we drove today from
Silverwood Lake to Big Bear Lake. At the beginning there was sign:
Vehicles over 25ft not advised...

We went anyway. This one feet can't really be a big difference. In the
end, the coach made it. Looking at

https://www.flattestroute.com/?from=silverwood+lake&to=big+bear+lake&travelMode=Driving&measurementMode=miles

made me realize how steep those grades really were.

Once made the mistake of running down (southbound) AZ State 89A (Flagstaff-Sedona) at night with the VW Thing in tow. Should have got the hint with all the signs saying "No Vehicles over 40 feet". Keep saying to myself, "We're shorter than 40". Next morning we drove back up (north) in the VW Thing just to see what we missed.
