Verizon put a bad taste in my mouth 10 years ago and it never left. This is
no surprise to me!

Mike,

It's CDMA and has the best coverage of any of the cell phone networks if I'm not mistaken.

I believe Verizon peed in their cheerios with this. FMCA is getting beat up on Facebook but as far as I can tell, the problem was 100% Verizon. I'd bet that the person who made the agreement did not have the authority for the magnitude of the discount for that many people and when the registrations started coming in with people changing from their existing Verizon plan to the new plan at considerable reduction in monthly payments someone said 'who the heck made this decision?' Still, Verizon is the one with egg on their faces.

I've had Verizon cell phones since they came on the scene and have been very happy. NOBODY has better cell coverage across the US than they do. N O B O D Y!

I'm sure this will be explained in the next FMCA magazine.

Unfortunate for sure. We have an unlimited plan for our cell phone and use the hotspot for internet connection while on the road. Just got back from 2 weeks at the beach with the grandkids and used 15gb in two weeks.

I agree with Kerry. Would not change from Verizon.

Some places not covered, but still the best coverage.

Verizon screwed it up, and should apologize. That being said, I have AT&T on one phone, and Repugnant on the other - dunno whose national service Repugnant uses. I picked up AT&T some years ago, when they covered all of my sites and no one else did. If I see problems, I'll change.
In that Repugnant says my number is portable to their service I may put my phone on it as well. It's substantially cheaper than AT&T or Verizon.

You guys might check out 4gcommunity.org
That's how I get internet out here in the boonies.
Unlimited 4g hotspot for 400/yr or so.
Drawback is it's sprint. Verizon works better here but the sprint still works.

I get about 7mbps down speed on sprint and 12mbps on verizon in my area. Either is sufficient to run my streaming on apple tv and my business.

Justin, the 4gcommunity.org looks promising. Thanks

The latest opinion piece by RV Daily Report

Opinion: Having irritated it own customers, Verizon zeroes in on FMCA
(June 22, 2017) -- I am sure it seemed like a great idea. Offer a special deal on unlimited internet data to people who love to travel in RVs. I am sure that Family Motor Coach Association felt the same way, which is why they were so eager to partner with Verizon on a new member benefit.
