For those who favor a formal Watching Experience - and a festival in the bargain - this is 3.1 miles from the RV park:

I have 40 pair of eclipse glasses. Most are spoken for, I should have extras that are not asked for. First come, first served on the extras. $1 a pair.
I will have them at the Dixielander Rally in Noccula Falls in July.
Anyone up for advance planning for 2024?

Cool. How about Hot Springs AR? Or The Cape or Indiananoplace, or Dallas. If my geography memory is good, ought to be just about over Oil Trough AR. Great metropolis for a rally. Bloomington.. we've had several shows there, nice town. Or The Mistake By The Lake (Cleveland) or Buffalo or Watertow NY. Or Kerrville Tejas, we could tour the Mooney factory. Yall pick a spot ans we'll go looking for RV sites close by.

I think Sydney and I can get off work to be there. I figure this crowd needs some "responsible adult supervision". And we ain't it!!!
Any cancellations out there? In the mean time I'll call the campground and see what they have left.
Scott.

While you all are in North Ga saving the sun, maybe you could look into saving the Red GMC that has been sitting on a lift in Mountain City. Mountain City isn’t very big and is just a few miles south of Dillard on US 441. The Red GMC is on the west side of 441 at a repair shop and has been on the rack for several months and was still there about 10 days ago.
Not mine and it is always late when I pass by there, just curious.

Got a call Saturday from River Vista wanting to make sure I was coming. They recommended I call and finish paying to avoid a line at check-in during the first part of this week. I chalked it up and paid today before I forgot. We will be in the economy spot at 587 River Vista Drive. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Thanks,

The list is on Google Group site. Not everyone's site is listed, but most
are.

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/save-the-ga-sun-17

You'll have to scroll down through the Latest Roster thread to get to the
truly lasted one -- IIRC there are 37 total for Dillard House on that one.

Terry,

You've been a member ever since I found out you were coming. I just
approved your second request -- forgetting you were already in there. BUT,
your first membership entry shows "Bouncing" for eMail status. I don't
know what to do about that. You should still be able to get into the web
site, I think.

They sent me a confirmation email and I was able to get in. Didn't explore it completely, spending all my extra time trying hard to prep for the unseen events that await on every road trip Shocked

AS reported to the Google list, Amazon recalled my second order of eclipse glasses as unsafe. I have been unable to find any more at a reasonable price. If you see eclipse glasses, grab them. I do not have enough to met the needs of the 37+ people attending. I have sent individual e-mails to those who can expect me to have them for your use.
I'm as disappointed as you all might be.

Eclipse glasses are getting to be a huge problem. I have 5 pairs for my family, all properly certified, but I know many who got stuck with garbage and it is too late to get more. If you are in a bind, some Walmarts say they have shipments still arriving, so I would check there regularly. Also, local libraries got millions sent to them by NASA. I'd suspect most have been given away, but it might be worth calling to check.

Thanks,

Thanks, Jeremy. We're looking along the way...

Just picked up sausage, etc. for Sunday. Anybody who wants to can bring a
dessert--just tell us on a group msg so we don't end up with too many. My
sister is making a chocolate Crock-Pot delight. Also, we'll have a few more
opportunities to share.

Boogying to Dillard. See y'all there.

Clouds moved over at about 66%. :-(

10 min to full -- which we (37 GMCers) won't see.
