I'm restoring a 75 Transmode and am interested in fabricating new stronger, thicker, stiffer and more robust chassis frame rails. I'm inquiring if any dimensioned drawings exist of the GMC chassis?

I'm also designing and building a tube steel full length ladder frame to stiffen the floor beams and help to stiffen the body. This ladder frame will be resting on the rubber isolation pads. Reference drawings of the chassis would be helpful in creating my CAD designs of these pieces, ladder frame and chassis frame rails.

I'm new here and would greatly appreciate any help

Best,

Dale

Seems like you have to separate the frame from the body in the process, why not take measurements of the real thing once you have it out in the open?

You'd be correct and the best way is to measure everything with the frame and body separated, however I'm trying to prepare my CAD designs in advance of disassembly. Also it's difficult to have the coach apart for an extended period of time where it's located. So I'm working to design and build the parts as much as possible in advance. I do have the interior stripped and the floor out.

There is a guy (in Canada?) that makes and sells new galvanized frame rails.
I can't seem to locate his info now but will continue looking.
