I am sure that what some of you are saying is right after a night of thinking and dreaming I had come to the conclusion that fuel was bypassing the adjustable main jet I will give it another go thanks

I was thinking the link says it needs a gasket on both sides of the screen, or something like that.

AC is hopefully a tripped breaker (there is one on top of the Onan) or a blown bridge rectifier. If you need a bridge rectifier, the replacement has three of the pins twisted wrong and you need to take the socket apart and drill out the pin holes, put the plugs through the correct holes, attach them to the new rectifier, and then put the whole thing in place and put the screw back in it.

If the generator dies or gets shut down with the roof AC running, it will burn up the bridge rectifier.

They can be found online for a few bucks. Here is one that costs a bit, but will take more abuse than the original.

If the problem is not either a tripped breaker or a blown bridge rectifier, the other failure modes (assuming the electrical connections in the box under the Onan are not corroded or broken) would be a shorted or open circuited field or open or short circuited armature. Winding can be rewound (contact Jim Miller). Armature can not be repaired. You would need a replacement from a donor genset.

Connections between the genset and the main breaker panel can get corroded:

Any BR can blow if it gets a current spike. Even new might be dead after a glitch. It is a diode network (full wave rectifier), so easy to check. Let me know if you want the test procedure. You don't remove or close posts. Just end a thread with the solution that you found. You can delete all the text in your own pot and leave nothing, but there will still be a blank post. The reason people don't do that is for solutions to remain for the next person to search and find.

Have you downloaded the Onan manuals from Bdub's site? There are parts lists, Operating manual, Maintenance and repair, etc.
