Hay guys, I have an original GMC bunkbed (the back part that lifts up to become a bed).

The "lift up" back is the critical part required to make a bunkbed.

I do not have the bottom couch portion but that may be avalable from someone else or can

be made using plywood or other material.

I was planing to install this in the sretch that has sold but discovered that a bunkbed

only fits on the drivers side (it's the design of thr arms)

You can have it for free (just the cost of shipping).

Dan, who now has only ONE coach !!

Some GMC parts or componants are getting harder to find.

Unfortunaly there has been no intrest in the bunk bed...

It's going to the dump if no one wants it (free).

I'd take it, but BC Canada is just too far from Upper Alabama.

If you are going to Dothan in the Spring, you'll be driving within striking distance though.

We will not be going to Dothan, but it may be possable to link up with a series of GMC'ers to get the bunk to you.

No heroic measures. It is not important enough to put anyone out. Stick to your original disposition plan.

I'm hoping I'm not to late, but I'm interested in the bunk bed (back). I'm planning to put in a passenger side bunk, so yours may not work.

hit me up by direct e-mail at m grady at amishbell dot com (convert this to regular format)

Thanks!

To add to the bunk bed conversation, I have a set of the brackets that attach to the wall for the bunk beds. You can have them for shipping expense. Removed from junk yard 1977 Royale.

Mark, The bunkbed brackets will fit floor plans #1, #2, #3 and #10, on the drivers side ONLY.

Like you, I hade hoped to place it on the passenger side, buy not possable.

I do still have it but will not have it for long.

I will be completly re-doing my garage very soon and that means a complete purge!!

I'll share with everyone what will be going on in there, but I still have to work out the whole picture

upload thing.

I got a bunk bed set from Frank Sundram in Richmond, KY, and have modified it to fit on the passenger side in my '78 Kingsley. It originally had a passenger side (26-11) that was removed by the PO.

To 'convert' the top bunk, I had the arms cut off at 'the bend' and added a straight tubular brace across the entire back (connecting the remaining bracket to bracket stubs) and then re-welded the arms to the brace. (flipping the bent arm over).

VoilĂ ! Passenger side bunk. Even the bottom cushion is different, due to the location of the prop open brace and the mounting for the hinges. I think the 26-11 was the only configuration for a passenger side bunk.

for what it's worth, I have the bottom couch portion.
New foam and vinyl covering (off-white vinyl).
Located near San Jose, CA.

I believe this can be reversed for use on the passenger side by
unbolting the top part from the base frame.

It's a very plain upholstery job, but comfortable and easy to clean:
