Rob,

We must have ordered different wheels.

I ordered the 0589-7788-2-AA 16x7 8mm offset 058 wheel from Summit. It appears to have conical seats:

The online parts PDF for my wheel shows the lug type as acorn - which they translate as conical seat (page 8):

This page lists all of the 058s as acorn style:

Now, the wheel does also have a flat area around the lug hole on the face of the bolt circle where a mag style lug might could be used if the vehicle hub matched the wheel - this one does not match our Hubs.

Joe,

AW S#!T!

I copied the information below from my Summit order:

AEW-0589-7788
Wheel, Series 058, Aluminum, Polished, 16 in. x 7 in., 8 x 6.5 in. Bolt Circle, 4.25 in. Backspace
(Mfr. #: 0589-7788)

I am sure this is the SAME wheel you purchased.

It was not clear to me what kind of lug nuts it took so I called Eagle Wheel technical service and the guy I spoke to told me I
needed these:

http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/aew-acl8898/overview/

It is possible that the guy I spoke to got it WRONG!

I just sent an email to Summit Racing Tech Support and asked them if the AEW-ACL8898 lug nuts can be used with the AEW-0589-7788.

I can't seem to find American Eagle's Customer / Technical Support email to send them the same question; can you find it? If yes
could you send them the same question. Hopefully we'll get the same answer from them as from Summit!

Well I see Joe has already posted a good picture of the lug hole in the wheel. You can clearly see the conical seat and yes Rob, I believe the person you spoke to did indeed get it wrong. The bore in the lug hole is 0.705 and the specs for the lug nut you provided a link for indicate their shank diameter is 0.800 so they would not fit in the hole.

I went so far as to measure the major and minor diameters of the conical seat in the wheel and cone of the lug nut and they match up very well.

In case you didn't hear that, I just breathed a huge sigh of relief! Smile
