No, it's not supporting the Onan. The chain is slack. :) The Onan is
resting on some scrap wood. And yes, the eyebolt is forged. I had to
look all over the hardware store for it.

To open the power drawer you need to hold the bracket somehow like bolt it to some steel which you can mount on an engine stand. Once you have done that you can have someone hold the stand while you pull the gen out( you rotate that lever on the right in your video counter clockwise while pulling it out after releasing the two spring latches). Make sure that you have the gen VERY close to the ground in case it tips when extended.
Pull the carb off and clean it with carb cleaner spray ( in the float bowl and through all the tiny passages and jets)
Drain the oil and re fill while also replacing the filter
Pull the plugs and spray a little bit of fogging oil or wd 40 or the like in the cylinders while replacing the plugs
The open tube on the top of the motor is where the black hose coming off the air cleaner snorkel goes
Isolate the the wires you theorized in your video were the ac output
The black and red cables go to the battery. Follow them back the one that goes to starter hot the ground goes to the case and or the block
The "apparatus" in your video is the fuel pump
Once you can slide the gen out of the drawer you can access the control board and the start/stop switch
Download a copy of Duanne Simmons Onan trouble shooting and repair manual ( I should have put this first) his trouble shooting guide will help you diagnose most non run conditions.
Get a fuel source and plumb it to the pump
Press start
Tell us what happens

You correctly identified the exhaust. Did you find the muffler? That sucker will be loud without it!

Robin Hood wrote on Mon, 27 August 2012 20:15 | In all honesty I don't think I could I can identify the carb. I mean, yeah, the fuel line goes into something, but it doesn't look like a carb as I'm used to seeing one. I didn't try taking anything apart. I didn't hear any clicking from the fuel pump, and with zero suction on the fuel hose, I'm sure the carbs got nothing in it.
| As long as the other "helpers" here have you going to the auto parts store for carb cleaner and such, get a can of starter fluid.
Press the start button to get it spinning and spray some starter fluid in the breather. If it runs or sort of tries to run, you got spark.
If that works, get a lawnmower gas tank and figure out how to mount it above the carb. Higher is better as that will put more pressure on the line and increase your chances of not starving it for fuel under load. Plumb it to the carb with a filter inline.
Hit the start button again.
Let us know how it goes.

Larry, if you want to perform a true iPhone predictive text test open the message section and put the phone back in your pocket for awhile as you do things. Amazing. Creepy but amazing.
