Do you have the AutoZone or NAPA part number of the alternator dual pully that you installed last summer?
Thank you in advance,

Bob the NAPA part number is 13-494P. I got mine same day, if they have to order it JimK will probably get it to you sooner.
I too was concerned about lack of wrap on the power steering but wanted to try it.
Gene Thanks for the pictures of the tensioner. what a great little tool!
Its been four months since I bought the coach and I finally found a round tuit to fix the belt problem. The alternator pulley was not correctly aligned and the belts were put on wrong when the alternator was replaced. Belt broke on the way home from PO.
I decided to go with the double pulley (NAPA 13-494P) and tried to find Gatorbacks to do it up right and for once and for hopefully a long time. Dallas is not a small town so I thought surely someone would have them. Not so and no one was interested in ordering for me. After a week looking locally I found them on Amazon, arrived in another week. One pretty good, one really beat up and one really old faded one from before they were called Gatorbacks. Returned same day.
Gave up and went with just plain ole belts from Autozone. I went with longer 15580 not 15570 because that was what was on before, easy on and still plenty of slot for more tightening. Also only 10mm wide, written on the package and verified with a wrench, but they still ride above the edge of the sheave.
I made up the tensioner from two coupling nuts, a 4 1/2” bolt and a 1 ½” bolt to replace the one on the bottom of the alternator.

Easier to readjust in a couple hundred miles and then again if the cheaper and available belts give up. I decided to not bother cutting threads, just drilled the holes and stuck a nut between them. Turned out to be a big help maneuvering the bolt in after mounting the nuts. I don’t have the room that Gene’s pictures show. Two pipes for the out the front dipsticks and a couple bundles of cables run up the nearby brace. So without threads the bolt can slide back and forth going in around the interference.
I have decided to just leave the coupling nuts in to replace the original. Once the other tightening bolt on the bottom and the pivot bolt are tight I tighten up the coupling nuts and just leave them there.

I got my double pulley off an alternator I pulled from an early 70's Buick with a 455. I think it was an Electra. Most of the Big block Buick's I have seen in the yards seem to have the double pulleys on them as the factory setup.

My local Autozone had them under the counter and would swap them for free if you bought a new alternator from them and it had the wrong pulley. You could also ask them if they have them for sale without the new alternator.
As usual I'm sure Jim K. has them. I have seen them on his table at the GMCMI rallies. He stocks just about everything for a GMC.
It is a good change. I did mine about 10 years ago. With the double belt you do not have to run the belts as tight and the 100 amp alternator does not slip and squeal under full load.

Ken,
Your correct, we have more different parts for the GMC than anyone.
It is a fact that some hate to realize.
We are approached by several vendors to stock and sell them as they do
not want the hassle.
We have in stock 12ea. of the double grove alternator pulley.
