Rob,
The Caddy 500, 71-76, has the engine # stamped
in the bellhousing flange just to the right of the
left upper BH bolt. It's in the rough casting, so it's
sometimes hard to see. It will always start with a
six, followed by the last digit of the year. Then two
letters, denoting the assembly plant and original
application, followed by the last six digits of the VIN.
The only important thing is the second number.

Chuck,
I LOVE fussin' at you! ;-)
Thanks for the vote of confidence re the cowardice, however, I ga-ron-tee
you I can be pretty mean (like a cur) if the situation calls for it.
As Jim Croce sung "meaner than a junk yard dog."

Actually its cause He fussed at me for doing it.
Cur: noun 1. a mongrel dog, especially a worthless or unfriendly one. 2. a
mean, cowardly person.
Rob is definately not cowardly or mean.
