Mine is a Hayden of some sort and it just free wheels. Never gets hot but today we had about a 10 mile climb, 800 feet, at 90 degree temp. I watched the temp climb up to about 210. I have the 180 therm in it. Going down hill it willdrop to 170. Most of the time it set right on 180. We do have the aluminum radiator. I can see that I must get my external tranny cooler back on. Never ran pan temp over 140 unless we were on a long hot climb. Today it hit 190 and hung there for a long time. These little hills in the Ozarks only top out about 1500 ft.

I am sure the one I have just free rolls. I have never heard it. I dont over heat so I am not worried about it, yet. But one of these days. That is why I am interested in some way to run electric fans without being such a drag on the electricals.

Ditto for me. I never hear my fan run, but right now I am running without wheelwell liners (just lazy to put them back.) I also don't run hot.
