Hey guys,

I have began to remove some of the cupboards and the fridge module and
fridge. Some of the laminate has pulled back and looks like crap. What are
some things you guys did? Is it easy enough to re-cover them or is there a
place where u can get refurbished ones if they re bad enough. Just some
ideas would help. Thanks again for all the input.

Replacing the doors with real wood is always an option.

John...

I have a 78 PB that I bought in washington State from a fellow
living on one of the coastl islands. What this means is water damage. I was able to keep all of the cabinet structure (with some upgrades) but the cabinet doors were toast. I replaced all of them with oak veneer doors (stained snd finished to our liking). The result is exactly what we had hoped for. Sa you know, this GMC thing is all about personalising our coaches to our own tastes, after all...it,s only money!!!!

Dan in what used to be a 79 PB Borlase

If you need other parts, GEMRECS in Houston has a selection. Obviously, shipping can become a concern for larger parts, but give Michael a call if you need help. A very nice resource to have available (but catch him before the Houston summer drives him north)!

I too agree about buying a mechanic in a can. BUT. I had a heater core start leaking on a trip. The stop leak got me home to fix it there. I know of 3 GMC owners that had their transmissions quit. TransX got them home. I know of 2 others that the TransX didn't help. So what. I'd go with the stop leak. All you have to loss is $6. And might keep you from going out into the cold. We're at 11 for a high, and -10 for a low next week. I get that issue. But the cold keeps the rift/raft out. Bob Dunahugh Iowa

Ha Ha! I'm not sure how some of these old threads get resurrected all of a sudden. Must be a quirk of the Email system vs the Forum. It's happened a couple of times lately.
