So Meghan, you're uniquely qualified to answer the age... errrr, hours-old question... are the 24-SMD panels a whole lot brighter than the 9-SMD panels? I think it's very cool that you were able to fine-tune the lighting in the various parts of your coach. In mine, the PO just installed a LOT of light fixtures. As I recall, I counted (and replaced) almost 30 1141 bulbs (which would have drawn about 50 amps of 12VDC power if I turned 'em all on at once).

Yes, they are significantly brighter. Your coach is definitely unique. Smile Ours is still fairly stock. I didn't use 24-LED boards in the light over the couch because the kids will be using the top bunk, and it would be much too bright. It would also glare too much even when the couch wasn't being used as a bunk. The 15-LED boards work just fine for that space.

Since each of the new fixtures has 2 bulbs and three settings (off, 1 bulb, both bulbs) I have idly contemplated replacing the first bulb with a 6-LED board instead of matching whatever is in the second socket. That way you could switch the light on to a fairly low output, or all the way to turn on the second bulb for high output. I figured it might save some battery juice that way, but maybe I'm overthinking it. Razz

Thanks, Meghan... I expected you'd say they're brighter, which is good to know in case I ever decide I do need more light somewhere).

And yes, my coach IS unique. It can be a problem when I'm trying to give someone advice about working on their Royale... I really am not sure what IS original in my coach, and what's been replaced or relocated. All the "furniture" is in the right place, but it seems everything that doesn't show isn't where it was in 1978. Wink
