Please remember that a large percentage of us are on email, NOT the forum.
A short reply with no indication of the context, such as a brief quotation,

Yeah, Checker Auto seems to sell them all the time, but I bought mine off Craigslist for $180. It's pull start, but it has the right plug for the 30A shore power cable. Rain? I like to keep mine looking nice, but aside from getting wet refueling it, rain isn't a problem. They're made by the same people who finance Obamacare, so do your part and buy one off them. Your generator may make someone else's knee replacement possible!
I disagree with Chris on this one. This generator did everything I asked of it (the oil quantity between full and low enough to trip the low oil shutdown is about a drop, though) and I would rather have this than an ancient Onan that might or might not work. I now have a older Kohler which ran for basically 5 days and finally dropped off line due to a fuel pump failure, but if it had been prohibitively expensive to repair, I would have been happy with the back-porch option until I could save up for something new and on-board.
I looked at the inverter generators and they are still pretty pricey, but you can reclaim the storage space the old Onan took up by using one. That's about the best benefit I can find to one. They're too expensive for just an interim fix.
