I had the same problem when I cleaned up the corrosion on mine. There was a connector behind the driver's side speaker above the headliner that had come loose. Not sure it was stock, but it was there. I used oven cleaner followed by a squirt bottle rinse. I used paper towels to catch any liquid. I then put a thin layer of petroleum jelly on the connections, as well as inside the sockets where the bulb contacted. So far, so good.
