Looks nice. All it needs are a couple of ramps and a winch.

Who has a tractor to pull it with.

What is needed to haul GMCMH is one of these

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=29728

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=29729

The rear wheels move to facilitate lowering to a ramp and it also shortens the turning radius.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=29737

It is/becomes a ramp and comes with one serious winch.

And a GMC is a trivial load for a Landoll; my loaded Land-Sea container
weighed a lot more than any GMC -- and it didn't even have any wheels under
it. :-)

G'day,

Here's a photo of the rig that moved the wrecked Avion from Baltimore to
Knoxville.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=31741

Chuck Boyd said it worked well.

He also noted that because of the way it was set up it cost less to register
than a big rig.

I would vote for the Landoll. A single drop trailer would work if it had long ramps and dump valve for the airbags and a winch. The feller that moved Robs coach had his rig titled as a 60,000 pick up truck in Virginia.

Yes, but the trailer is Washington state and you are in Tennessee.

With diesel at 2.79 to 2.99, that would be one expensive dead head for a bobtail and then the return with an empty trailer.

You got a load to take to Seattle?

If you got it to 10-O-C how would Terry use it when he needed it?

How'd he maneuver that drive of yours Steve?

I bet he had a couple of drinks after that.

No problem. I told him if he couldn't get the rig down the drive that he could drop it off at the top of the hill at the road and I would figure out how to get the transmode in. (This was before I discovered it had NO BRAKES.) I also told him when we moved in the movers backed the semi down the drive. I think that gave him a challenge. He backed it down the drive with only two times having to pull forward to avoid dropping the trailer tires off the 2' high bank to the field. There was no way to get it around the corner to drop it in front of the barn. We had to drop it next to the drive and use the tractor to move it into position.

That was easy compared to positioning that Sea-Land container: Back about
200' from the street, maneuvering between the septic tank and the pine trees
to get between the fence and the shop building. I allowed <1' between that
building and the S-L when I built the 2' high concrete block foundation for
it to set on beyond the building 6'. The trailer wheels had to be
positioned on the filled first half of the foundation to position the S-L
all the way to the far end, 40' away.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7664

I told the driver, before he saw the location (except for a sketch and bunch
of photos I showed them before they committed to the job), that I had a $100
bill in my pocket with his name on it -- IF he got it in position without
wrecking the foundation. Several "experts" said it couldn't be done. He
earned his tip by putting it down exactly where I intended -- not 1/2" from
Spec! He had to move the wheels several times to change the turn radius as
he avoided all the obstacles.

You have an amazing collection of ramps, foundations, grease pits, shops,
etc

I guess we need an aerial view to understand all of this.

Unfortunately, Google Earth's resolution here is not good enough to show
more than a white blob beneath the pine trees. And the street level photos
were made 20' too soon and 10' too late for the view south down the driveway
to the shops. :-(

There's really just the 20'x20' brick guest house attached to the front of
the 20'x40' metal workshop shown in the photos of the S-L installation.
After getting the S-L in position, we built the 16'x50' shelter beside the
workshop, extending back over the shed on the S-L. The service rack is at
the S-L end of the shelter.

The the slope beside the shop is now leveled with a concrete floor for 37
feet, then drops 42" down to the S-L level for 13' -- the grease rack ramps
extend over that slab. The door on the end of the S-L has a parts shelf and
peg board inside for storage of tools needed in that area.
