Look up the new Winnebago Revel 4x4 short wheel base adventure camper based on the 4WD MB Sprinter chassis. It fits under a 10’ door and is designed for all season use on or off road including extended winter weather use.

A number of the systems look very interesting to consider as additions for the GMC. It has 17” wheels with special off/on road LT tires that might help traction and clear even larger disk brakes if that wheel comes in the correct bolt/hub pattern. There is no propane and no generator. It uses roof mount solar panels with ports to add more at ground level, 3 AGM batteries, a sine wave inverter and a diesel fired (I don’t know if those also come gasoline fired but I think they do) hydronic heater for the interior and continuous hot water. Of great potential interest is a canister toilet that eliminates the black tank. Unplug the canister and carry it to any toilet to dump. If we could retrofit that system we could greatly extend the dry camping time and free up a lot of space or enlarge potable water storage. Finally, take a look at the high def entertainment/navigation system that looks like it would go a long way to bringing our coaches into a modern infotainment world.

Cheap stuff? Not likely, but really neat stuff.

I was looking at these last month - I really like them. But I’m a fan of true Class-B’s - too bad they hold their value so well! Used ones are almost as pricey as new ones...
