Yellow marks on parts obtained from Men's Mall is common around here.

TorqueFlite built by a friend's shop - date in yellow paint. Very common.

Letters and numbers or just marks? Almost all yards, as mentioned above, mark with paint pens to prevent scammer returns during the "warranty'" period.
