To Pricevile AL and back with the MouseToad following happily along behind.. Coach ran flawlessly, if inefficiently. The furnace kept us warm, the new water pump kept us hydrated and cooked, etc. Both TVs work well when the coax is connected to the Winegard on the roof. Saw a couple of the Cousin's Club for dinner, hit Big Bob Gibson's BBQ joint one night. Big Bob's is a must any time you get close to Huntsville/Decatur on I 65. It's been there since 1925, they're into the fourth generation of Gibsons now. I first went there with my Dad at age 5. Same pit, it's held together by smoke and pig grease as nearly as I can tell... but it Does Something for the ribs. Don';t miss it. With the 3.7 ratio, the coach walks over the hills at Ft Payne. And even with the limited slip, it was useless on the grass at the show site. Barely got it on the hard surface after a wrong turn. Another positive experience.

John,
Being that the Limited Slip is designed to break out ater 250-300 ft lbs of
torque, it works best when you do not apply too much power.
We know that on a very wet pavement we can't have too much friction.

I'm not particularly aniti anti-slip (I have a Detroit Locker in the Ratrod Toad), it's just that in a year and a half it hasn't helped me. It was installed by a PO, and while I've no intentions of taking it out unless the final drive were changed, I wouldn't hustle out to buy one. I never see snow on a hard surface around here. It would help if I ever got on ice, because I can stick one wheel on the rough apron and motor slowly home that way. At that point it would be valuable. In that the idea of driving a GMC on any ice versus holing up where I was for another day or three leaves me cold, I'll likely not ever see the value in it.
Likewise, other users have pretty much convinced me that my lousy mileage isn't due to the gear ratio. I suspect the engine isn't really set up for coach service, I think it would be happier in a Toro with loud mufflers. Likewise, conversation with a couple of the gurus indicates that the injection system probably needs the occasional tweak here and there to get it right. It seems to me the MAP is higher than it oughta be much of the time as well. Much of the fun of these toys is figuring this kind of foolishness out. However, ~~ 500 miles at up 200 + dollars of gas. It can do better. Remember, my PO hauled a trailer full of Harleys through the Rockies with it so I doubt he was looking for mileage.

Try advancing your timing 2 degrees and see if it can take the additional
timing without preignition.
Also get that programer uit and review it and call the MSD tech line for
help .
