EVERYTHING was working good, no great.
Ready for Elkhart!
I decided to fatten up the carb a little, so I took out the 68's and put in 69's, wide band told me thats too fat 13:1 at cruise.
So back in the 68's go. Took it out for a test drive and while it runs fine.. BUT I now have a loud header gasket leak.
Gasket is blown on #2. bolts are tight
Fine, I have a spare gasket.
4 out of 5 bolts approve.
The 5th one?
Took out 2 sockets, 1 open end wrench, plenty of penetrating oil, 3 nuts welded to the head.
Still refuses to budge.
Hopefully a conversation with Guido the cutoff wheel will change it's mind tonight.
Also pulled all the plug wires out of their metal spark plug connectors...yay
Wish me luck

Keith,
You don't need luck, you've got the skill set to fix this stuff; all you have to do is be patient.
When you've got all these items corrected DON'T touch anything else - Murphy is alive and well!

Good luck Keith. Wish I could come with.
An extra day of penetrating oil really makes a difference, but sounds like you are beyond that. Drill through and bolt it.

Keith, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, "Don't fix what ain't
broke". Sorry about your close encounter with Murphy.

Personally I think this was going to happen, I'm just lucky I drove it last night and noticed rather than at 5am on Friday as we are about to leave!
I've got 2 days to get it fixed. It's only 1 bolt!
And Jon, I wish you are in on the party too.
