I'm putting in a new aluminum radiator.
Is there any use for our old radiators? Are they in demand as a core?
Thanks, Scott.

Unless the tanks are shot, I think folks do have them recored. Might have some takers out there.

The tanks are unobtainium. Don't let 'em get away.

Scott,

I'd like it for the test stand I'll build to do the oil flow testing.

I have a friend (former GMCer) who also has an old radiator sitting in the shed. Anyone have an idea what it might be worth to someone who wants the tanks?

I need one. Mine was scrapped by the bum living in it. Along with the carburetor, generator, the lp tank and anything else that was metal.
Let me know if you can dig it up.
Thanks!

Scott -

You're closer to Rob's place than me, let him have yours and I'll see what I can do with my aluminum one.
For the other folks, a good radiator shop can recore the originals and boil out the coolers and end tanks. Reported prices run $400 - $700 depending the shop and work done. Like Year One says, 'Don't crush 'em, restore 'em'. The 23' which departed about an hour ago and my 26' both have fresh recores in them.

Rob gets first dibs on the radiator if he still needs it.
Then John in Denver (it even came out of a 77 palm beach!).
It has the tranny and engine oil coolers built in.

I will have a 2nd radiator available in July. But it does not have any built in coolers. But cools very good..
Both radiators are NOT aluminum.
Scott.

Johnny,

He's not giving me an aluminum radiator he's giving me an OEM radiator for
testing.

I wanted the oil coolers out of yours to see what the pressure drop through
them was in comparison to the OEM radiator.

As I noted from the git go if you can get your aluminum radiator fixed do
so, however, the tanks on the OEM radiator are soldered on, the tanks on the
aluminum radiator are heli-arc'd on. At least the one I have here in Sydney
sure looks like it is.

I'll bet dollars to donuts to re core your aluminum radiator will cost as
much if not more than a new one.

Larry,

The following is for everybody that didn't read or doesn't remember past
GMCnet communications.

I bought an aluminum radiator set up for a Cadillac 500 from Larry that will
go into my Kingsley powered by a Caddy 500.

I will use the OEM radiator from Scott to test my theory of why quality
rebuilt Olds engines fail.

I trust this explains the reason I want the OEM radiator.

Yep, I remember the pumps as well.

Gary
A couple of years ago I paid $85 for a good used original.

I would think the tanks would easily be worth $40 to someone interested in building/recoring and original.
