I have a 76 Birchhaven and am rebuilding my transmission.

I would like to locate a Caspro or Manny power drive sprocket and chain, new or in good used condition.

Rjest,

Did you contact Manny?
He is both in the roster and on Bdub's link page.

I am glad you have joined the group, but this is distributed as both e-mail and the forum. E-mail readers don't get the swap page.
So, in Control Panel/Account Settings build a sigfile and come over to the forum. There are another thousand friends waiting to meet you.

Matt

I see your post is a few months old. After considering the ĉosts of shipping and rebuilding, etc., I decided to rebuild my own transmission.YouTube is a great resource and, even though I could not find a video specific to our TH 425 transmissions, I found enough guidance to attempt it.

There was one major part I was just unable to get - yep, the drive chain.I looked at all the usual sources and I even walked into a Chevy dealership, prepared to be a victim of legal larceny. No luck there either. I put the old one back in. What choice did I have? Ît shifts fine, but I am babying it, ĉonstantly worried about this part.

Maybe you've resolved this dilemma by nôw. All I can say is, after all that removal and rebuilding, it would have been really nice to have had a tight, new drive chain in there. I have to say that, unless a new source for this part is found, or better yet a modern engine/transmission combo, our coaches' days are numbered.

I hope you were able to find your part. I couldn't.

It seems like there is a big enough installed base out there to support someone making the chains, they must not wear out very often.
