Today my son and I installed 4 120 watt PV panels on the roof. A repurposed jumper cable runs from the controller to the roof. Now I need some advice on connecting these panels. They will be in parallel but what is best way to connect them? Is there a better way than the standard connectors that the panels come with. I've seen where a 6 gauge wire is connected to each panel with a split bolt connector. Any comments from the forum?

Peter,
You need to get a universal connector to connect the panels to the charge controller. All the panel outputs go to the connector.

This is just one example, you should also check with any local solar supplier in your area for necessary parts. You need to segregate the outputs so if one fails it doesn’t affect the rest.
