anyone tried to retrofit one of these?
a little pricy, and not sure it will fit in the existing Hot water heater area (don't think so) BUT if there is a smaller BTU output somewhere out there, that would fit under the sink replacing the heater and the on demand.. still looking.. will try Alibaba

I think out loud..

>electricity

In the residential market, none of the tankless electric water heaters have enough wattage to do more than take the chill off when washing your hands. So many were returned by customers that many plumbing supply houses like mine quit selling them. At 40-60 psi and a 1/2" supply, I estimate (based on my experience with spa inline elec elements) that it'd take at least a 6kw element to provide warm-ish water. In our coaches, when running on the 12v pump with low water flow, maybe 2 or 3 kw to get an almost hot shower.
