Then there's the issue of the back window. I'm thinking that I could paint the inside of that back window black. That way it would look some what normal from the outside. Then on the inside over the black. Paint that inboard side some color to match the interior colors of the coach. And not paint the top 10 inches so that I could get some light it. Then put window tint on that top 10 inches to mask what I did. As seen from the outside. Any ideas out there? Now looking at a total frame off restoration to be completed by the next March rally.Bob Dunahugh

Bob,

Like a wet bath? Or shower only? Our PO put in a sliding glass shower door - not a lot of wiggle room.

Someone just did a dedicated full shower on a side wet bath 26 by relocating the fridge/vacuum and using that space.

How about replacing the glass with a sheet of white plastic. If it was UHMW it would be translucent but not even remotely transparent. Or you could use GRP sheet and add porthole/small smoked window and insulate the rest.

G'day Bob,
We have a rear shower in our '78 Royale, I doubt the configuration would suit your needs but you might get some ideas from the photos.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/plumbing/p59175-shower.html
We used dark tint on the window, and have rubberized (washable) curtains for showering at night. Layout is 11 years old but we wouldn't change a thing.
Also a photo of the hatch when we had the inside stripped. http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/gail-26amp-3b-marks-cruiser/p35565-the-plan-start-over.html

How light is the "Celuka" versus ply or MDF. It does seem a good choice for an RV with its resistance to water damage.

I'd leave the glass as it has some structural design and that retains the E exit function. Thare are numerous glass treatments you could go with, all of which are changeable if you want to change your mind. I bet the glass tinter shops could help with some no see material or someting with a one way mirror effect??

Mark,
Thanks for the shout.
I have been wanting a GMC since I first saw them in 1973.
Bought one two weeks ago, bringing It home Friday.
Its been in storage for 15 years, and is in great shape.
All hoses, belts, vacuum lines etc. need replacing.
Interior is perfect, have not checked out the systems yet.
Now the fun begins.
The wife has already named it, ESCAPE POD.

As with all GMC's the only thing that will be escaping is money from your
