The class A Ultra Vans were made from 1967 to I think 1974. At first they were Corvair powered. After the Corvair ended production. UV's were then powered by the same Toronado engine, and transmission that we use. Sometimes in the front. And sometimes in the rear. One showed up to our Branson Rally. The engine in that one was a rear engine unit. The bodies are made vary similar to ours. And are all alum. Bob Dunahugh

Bob,

One rolled up at the GMC Midwest Classics Duluth Rally a few years back, IIRC it had a Corvair drive train. IIRC it was Tony Cook
who rolled up at the Branson Convention and his had an FWD Olds drive train mounted in the rear.

Am I personally interested in them; not really, they're cute but not my cup of tea, GMC's RULE! ;-)

Do I have anything against them holding a rally at the same time as a GMCMI convention, nope, it's a free country.

Regards,
Rob M.

I think it would be nice. Just keep in mind there is already a group of vintage motor home rallies, The Tin Can Tourists. GMCMI is for GMCs. Do I have a problem with running a rally side by side? Of course not. Do I have a problem mixing and mingling for social things? Nope, sounds like a great way to make new friends with complimentary interests. But the focus for the majority of seminars and events at a GMCMI rally should be on GMCs, not on caring for vintage motor homes in general. That already exists somewhere else.

So yeah, good idea, with some understanding of the purpose.
