Anybody have one?
My guage is pegged full ALL the time and even if I meter the switch connections, none of them are 'hooked' together when selecting the switch. (2 browns to the white? with black stripes)

Is it just a DPDT rocker switch? Grainger and McMaster-Carr both sell them.

Take the switch apart.
Clean it.
Shine the contacts with a pencil eraser.
Reassemble it with a little lube.

Pete,
I would use just a very small dab of Dielectric Grease on the moving parts inside the switch. More is NOT better! Most of the chain Autoparts stores carry it.

This would be enough to grease 50 switches. I use the stuff on all electrical connections, bulbs, and etc. I get the large size for what I use it for.

And There is a pressurized can available too.

You can also use CRC 2-26 Multi-Purpose Lubricant instead of the grease.

As for cleaning the switches and other elctrical items I have used CRC Lectric Clean.

And to clean Switch and relay contacts and variable resistors I have used this. You can get it online or Radio Shack also carries it.

Those are all good suggestions. I use a tube of silicon grease I have around here. This is the same stuff that you use for mounting the module in an HEI distributor. You really want something thin but not too thin like mobil one grease that will run / melt away.

I have a spare switch if it comes down to where you need one.

Could you take a few pictures of the switch and the socket and post them to the photo site? I would like to see the socket and the connector side of the switch.

Taking t apart and cleaning up the points will surly fix that, you could
flip the switch back and forth 20 times or so and it may start passing... I
mean if you just wanna get it working for the day. Doing it right though is
always preferred
