In-laws bought a campground membership from Midwest resorts. It is tied to a deluxe coast to coast membership, and somehow it is set up so my wife now holds a card, and is granted membership as well. I am being told, we will be able to utilize it for our entire life, and it will pass down to our kids to use for their life. Free camping at member campgrounds, and a host of other benefits.

I am just curious if anybody has used, or knows about this stuff.

These campground memberships are essentially a timeshare.
You can sell your membership to someone else and there are many listed for sale on the Internet. I just looked up Midwestern and found several that say "cost when originally purchased $9500 - priced to sell $3000. "
Some were priced higher.

It is free at your home base campground and perhaps a few in their group but you pay camping fees at others ( perhaps a discount price). Like house timeshares I believe they also have an annual maintenance fee. I don't know what it is for yours -- perhaps you can find out and post it to the net.
