Kerry,
The important point is: Does the air cleaner base fit tightly on the
carburetor flange? A lot of abrasive grit can be pulled through there if
not.
IIRC correctly, you've already replaced the body/frame pads. If not, you
need to do so to get more clearance there. Also check the front
"doughnuts" at the front. You should not be having that interference. I'm
not sure that any one of us knows how thick the installed doughnuts should
be, so some experimental shimming may be in order.

I've already done new, thicke,r pads. Haven't done the front doughnuts yet because I could not break the nuts loose and my oil cooler is in the way. This seemed like a simple fix. The bottom of the breather does fit flat on the carb gasket Ken. I doubt that it did before.

I did as Emory said as well as adding 1/4" spacer to the "donut" front mounts to match the additional 1/4" offered by Jim Bounds 1/2" pads. Lotts o room now and coach body happier.
