Based on my apparently stock Avion, if you want to paint the front interior cap, by removing it from the coach, you must remove the headliner. Avion installed both the front cap and the piece of white plastic trim at the front of the headliner with pop rivets. These will have to be removed before you can take out the front interior cap.
Proceeding with replacing the headliner. Most of the old stuff is out. An interesting project, perhaps not the most fun, but interesting. A great opportunity to install additional 12v wiring (future expansion) and TV coax.

Tom,
Yep, the parts Avion had rivets there also.
I assume you're going to add Insulation too.
Is the rear A/C wired for 120 VAC?

Based on measuring my Avion headliner panels, the dimensions are 73 1/4 inch X 44 5/8 inch.
Definitely measure twice and cut once.
It appears that the headliner panels were installed from the rear, and slid forward into their final position. Front white plastic has pop rivets, holding it in place. Rear white plastic has a double sided foam tape holding down that end of the headliner. Did not see pop rivets there.

Tom,
I have done a number of front and rear caps. The front I have removed and covered with headliner material made by Foss industries. DO NOT CUT the cap to get it out. Remove the headliner first! While you have it out it is time to make any repairs if you have cracks.

Continuing on on lessons learned with the Avion front interior cap.
Local R/C hobby shop has a plastic solvent that works with ABS. "Plastruct Plastic Weld", web site www.plastruct.com. It will work very well on cracks in ABS that are not caused by stress on the plastic. If the crack is touching along both sides of the crack, the solvent works by capillary action, pulling it into the crack. You only have to stabilize the crack for 15 seconds, then allow overnight before installing the cap. If it is a stress crack and has expanded, it will not hold.
I going to epoxy styrene plastic sheeting along all cracks to stop the spread. Could not find thin sheets of ABS.
Cold temps have slowed this project down. Bummer.
