Quick question. Does the OEM headliner just snap into place? I cannot see any screws, etc. Working on replacing a very damaged headliner. Major Honey Do requirement.
PITA also.

Held in with strips that have a plastic cover, remove the cover and you will see metal strip with screws, remove the screws and panels with either drop or pull out. Depending on how much your ceiling has dropped you may need to jack up the roof stringers to relieve the "pinch" between the roof and the built-ins. Also you will need to drop the overhead cabinets held in with two bolts in rear and two bolts at top front of each section.
I just finished my headliner redo and used Jim B's method, 2 foot pleather glued to luan sections held in with an aluminum H strip that is pop riveted to to roof stringers working from the back to the front. I would suggest calling Jim B and he'll walk you through it and send you the H strips.

My 77 had 4' panels (77 3/4" long side-to-side) and the covering over the seams was a 1" channel with a metal snap on cover. I used melmine faced masonite with the melmine surface up and had white vinyl glued to the surface. If you do this yourself, make sure you use the CORRECT contact cement. I used the old ceiling as patterns and was careful taking it down.
It is EASY with two people. By yourself, it's pretty awkward to get both ends positioned without one coming out.

Gene, The link to the Syntra or expanded PVC no longer works. I'm using Komatex a very similar product, made in Germany.

In a previous linked headliner conversation, some one asked for photos of front cap with the overhead plastic removed. Please post more specific photo request and I will get that done while the interior cap is out of the coach. Time is of the essence.
Are you interested in dimensional photos? Or, just a collection of photos showing the inside (as much as possible)?
FYI. My front interior cap was made in Nov, 1973. No signatures like Kerry found. Coach is a 1975 Avion.

Tom,
Go ahead and put yours back in, The Blue Streak has both the front and rear plastic caps removed and I can supply the photos as
required.
If you were to remove the forward dinette bench you would might find a date written on the floor as that's what I found in both
Double Trouble and The Blue Streak.
