Hello,

I have a 1977 23ft Transmode. With rear bathroom. In Yuba City, CA.

I connected the RV to a water hose, I saw water leaking on the left side (the side of the hose inlet) from underneath the RV and basically all along the left side.

The kitchen and bathroom all worked off the hose connection, except as I recall the left side of the kitchen sink.

I disconnected the water supply and noticed that I had water leaks in 3 areas. One by the sink in the bathroom...the carpet was wet. And in 2 spots one by the kitchen sink and one below the oven.

I sucked up the water and finally removed the carpet which I discovered was moldy anyway from long time ago.

I went into the closet (in the bathroom) and examined the grey connecting hoses (which connects to the water hose/supply) and it looks intact and in new condition.

I assume....I have to do this again and get someone to turn on the water hose while I look to see where it is leaking.......I assume the water was accumulating in that opening under the closet and causing the water to look like it was leaking along the entire left side of the RV.

Anyone had similar experience...advise please?

Thank you.

You could always chase the problem with air pressure rather than water. Try about 40 PSI.

Jarrar,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum.

You got a lot right, but you can save yourself and all of us that might offer advice or assistance in the future if you go to the Control Panel/Account and fill in a sigfile with you name, a short coach description and and a geographic reference. As said, you got most of this in the current message, and that is great. We like real names because you will meet others at rallies and such and it is real nice to know to whom you were talking/writing.

In your case, you know it is a transmode, but do you know who did the final upfit? If it is Coachman or Norris, there are people here than can help. If it is not one of those two, there may still be someone that knows something.

As to your water leak issue, I had one similar that turned out to be the city water fitting in the coach side. I fought that drip for a long time before I found I could replace the fitting for not much (10$us iirc) and that fixed it.

If you posted a note that said, "I am now the owner of a 77, 23'.") I would have passed along my more or lesss regular welcome message. I stumbled into this group some years ago and soon recognized it for what it truly is. The only other that I know of personally is that of the watermen that have been my world. This and the relation to the coaches is so very much like that I decided to the new owners and coach to the group should be welcomed as a new owner or vessel might be at home. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Aj.

Matt

I too had the same leak. I replaced that item with a Brass one for less than $10.00 and about 15 minutes work about 10 years ago.

So if the problem is at the connection to the fresh water hose (against the rear left wall), then why do I have leaks in 3 places in the bathroom and the galley on the floor.? In 3 different places ?

If the leak was at the connection then how did it spread so far?

It sounds like it froze at one time.

Aj,

My city water fitting was leaking onto the side trim rail and being carried all along the coach's port (left) side.
Yours being rear bath and possibly (we don't know the layout or the builder) right side galley. This is not any kind of stretch to believe a result.

And Yes, as KenB remarked, It may have gotten frozen at some point. If that is the case, leaks can be anywhere.
